Roger federer is the winner of the australian open tennis tournament 2010, beating the uk’s andy murray in a nail-biting final. federer won on straight sets, 6-3, 6-4 and 7-6 (13-11). he secures his place as the winner of 16 grand slam titles and increases his own personal record. it is the forth time that he has won the event, the emotion shows on his face at the end of the final set. the attached video is from the final few minutes of the game, as federer head into the closing stages and clinches victory. federer is also accredited with organising the hit for haiti campaign charity tournament at the start of the event. it is estimated to have raised $400,000 for the relief effort.
